Will a male or female Labrador make a better pet??

During your training you will most likely encounter some problems; however, below are some do’s and don’ts to follow which will make the training for both you and your dog a very pleasant experience.

• Don't let your dog hurl itself at the door in a frenzied manner when the bell goes. This may be amusing in a pup but it may also lead to biting when the dog is an adult.

• Don't let your pet be a nuisance ' in cars. At an early stage in training command 'Down!' and 'Stay!' so that it rests on the floor.

• Don't let your dog jump up at people. Teach it to accept praise by patting it at its own level. If it jumps up, bring your knee up smartly into the dog's chest and say nothing. You will not have to do it more than two or three times.

• Do take your dog around with you as much as possible when it is young. It will get bored and mischievous if left alone indoors for long periods.

• Don't let your dog run away after a reprimand. Make sure it stays until you release it.

• Do a little training every day,

• Do enjoy your training and don't take it too seriously. It is supposed to give both of you simple pleasure, and make you and your dog acceptable in the community. .
