The Rest is up to You

The best, is yet to come. You’re the proud new owner of a fresh bundle of talent wrapped up in puppy fur. It’s your responsibility to spark the hunting interests and instincts in your new little friend. He’ll be looking to you and your family for everything, and it’s your job to give him the training he needs to be safe in the field and to be a good member of the family (which will be his main function ninety-nine percent of the time). As time slips away, don’t forget the breeder who provided you with that buddy on four paws. He’ll enjoy seeing a photograph of the dog along with news on how he’s doing after the pup is all grown up.

Summary
Here’s a quick review of what you learned in chapter two: Number One

Lesson - Focus on choosing the right breeder, not on the puppy. If you select the right breeder, the litter is bound to be good, and so will the puppy. Do lots of research prior to selecting a breeder. Stay away from puppy mills, and make sure you get a written guarantee from your breeder.

Once you’ve done your homework to select an ethical breeder, selecting the puppy is easy. Prepare for your new arrival. Don’t forget to take a crate along when you pick him up.
